What do we mean by “crisis”?
The International standard ISO 22361 defines a crisis as:
“An abnormal or extraordinary situation which threatens an organisation and requires a timely response in order to preserve the organisation’s viability”
So it’s clear why crises need to be avoided if at all possible, and then effectively managed if they do occur. It’s a topic which has to be of vital concern to the management of all organisations, both large and small.
With this thought in mind, Andy was delighted when he was invited to join The Protect Alliance (UK) as their specialist advisor on crisis management planning. On behalf of the Alliance he delivered a presentation at the 2025 Fareham Business Exhibition on the need for planning in incident management, and a video of that presentation can be seen on the Protect Alliance (UK) page.
In addition, Andy has been working with the IPI Academy on a set of 1-day webinars for 2026 on topics related to crisis management within the pharmaceutical industry. Further details of these courses can be found on the IPI website at https://ipi.academy/search?query=pharmaceutical&formats=15&topics=12
Currently, Andy is in a position to offer crisis management advice (in line with ISO 22361) to a few selected clients. If you feel he may be able to help you, then please feel free to contact him directly via the Contact Us page for an informal initial discussion about your crisis management requirements.
Rest assured that all approaches will be treated in the strictest professional confidence
